DiscoverAbility is powered by mentoring. Our goal is to support the development of our next generation, providing opportunities for them to enhance their talents, and empowering them to contribute to the community through the arts and athletics.

We are looking for students to help out in the arts and athletics areas; and corporate employees to help out in mentoring, writing, marketing, fundraising, technology and in many other duties at our community events. Join the DiscoverAbility Team by volunteering at our events throughout the year.

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS

Arts students at Summer Street Festivals:

  • We invite art students to paint along with volunteer artists or mentors to showcase your art talent to the public, and exhibit your paintings in our art gallery for charity fundraising.
  • We need art students who are good in caricature, portrait sketching and face painting to help us with fundraising.
  • We need art students to mentor young children for creative art and craft activities.
  • We need music and dance students for performances.

The students will work under the instruction of the DiscoverAbility mentors to develop programming and teaching skills in the areas of visual arts, dance, drama, creative writing and sports.

  • We invite students to be mentored by our art instructors and assist in our after-school art clubs or summer camp on a regular basis in a period of time e.g. once a week for a month or so.
  • We invite senior art students to assist our art instructors in school workshops on a one-day basis during school hours.

Annual Countryside Art Retreat and Art Tour (September)
