Dragon Boat Challenge Fundraiser

Currently, DiscoverAbility fundraises through the DiscoverAbility Art Exhibit and Silent Charity Auction and participates in the Great White North Dragon Boat Challenge. We believe that the Dragon Boat Challenge is an excellent opportunity to promote community involvement, teambuilding, arts, and recreation.

GWN is an annual fundraising regatta that features over 150 recreational and elite teams raising funds for Canadian charities. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, the DiscoverAbility Master Dragon Team paddlers included business professionals as well as university, college and high school students. They enjoyed great success in participation at GWN and helped to fundraise for both DiscoverAbility and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
DiscoverAbility is once again holding its annual fundraiser by participating in the 14th Annual Great White North Dragon Boat Challenge (GWN) at the Toronto Western Beach Watercourse, Marilyn Bell Park on September 6th and 7th, 2008.

This year, we are aiming for higher fundraising figures and better placement results. Our goal is to make the Dragon Boat Challenge an annual event, and host a family day picnic for everyone. In the future, we are hoping to be picked as the main charity for this challenge.

Contact us if you're interested in signing up for this year's team. (8-10 weekday sessions of one hour practice between June to September)
