The DiscoverAbility® program has previously participated in the Great White North Dragon Boat Challenge (GWN) to raise money. The Dragon Boat Challenge was an excellent opportunity to promote community involvement, teambuilding, arts, and recreation. In 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 the DiscoverAbility Master Dragon Team paddlers included business professionals as well as university, college and high school students. They enjoyed great success in participation at GWN and helped to fundraise for both DiscoverAbility and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

The DiscoverAbility program also focuses on recreational sports, as well as on healthy living styles. This is achieved by hosting various recreational sports activities, such as baskteball, soccer, and hiking.
