Children and Youth Art Exhibit and Charity Silent Auction

We have held Annual Children and Youth Art Exhibits, and Silent Charity Auctions as annual fundraisers for 8 years. The 8th annual event was held at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre (CBC). The DiscoverAbility® event gave students an opportunity to exhibit and donate their work, which was then auctioned. Net proceeds were split - 50% to support DiscoverAbility's programs, and 50% to the charities chosen by the young artists. These students were incredibly enthusiastic about the prospect of having their artwork displayed for the public and were genuinely in awe when they realized that members of the community would purchase and display it in their homes and offices.

Participants throughout the past years included special guests from the Czech Republic, Vancouver, China and Hong Kong and students from all levels of education who used their talents to create original art pieces. The art work that mentors and students created and donated, were the products of the dynamic environments in which the DiscoverAbility program sought to bring into the process of creation through their 41 workshops.
